Watermill Express Supports the Ride Against Hunger

Brighton, Colo. – May 30, 2012 – Watermill Express, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, provided water to the Ride Against Hunger at Sharyland Plantation Sports Park in Mission, Texas.

Watermill Express donated 75 gallons of water and 60 pounds of Waterocks Ice to approximately 400 attendees. Watermill Express had three water stations set up throughout the ride to provide chilled water, along with snacks and first aid kits to all participants. Water tents were set up at the start and finish lines of the event to provide water for the participants as well as volunteers.

The Ride Against Hunger is a bike tour hosted by the Rio Grande Valley Food Bank. The event consists of a 25, 40 or 60-mile bike ride for adults and 10-mile bike ride for children. For those that would rather run than bike, the event also has a 5K run/walk.

The funds generated from the Ride Against Hunger will be used to help promote healthy living among families in the Rio Grande Valley. According to the USDA more than 12 million children are living in households that do not meet food quantity standards. In the Valley this means that one out of every two children goes to bed hungry on a nightly basis. The funds generated from this event will help families in the Valley with their food needs.
