Cheezy Yuca Bites are bite-sized pieces of Caribbean yuca – similar to a potato – filled with cheese then fried golden to perfection, and served with a creamy Cilantro-Garlic dipping sauce. They are a perfect compliment to any Pollo Tropical meal or can be enjoyed on their own as an appetizer or snack.
Yuca (pronounced YOU-ka) is native to the South American tropical regions where it is widely known as “cassava,” and originated in its purest form in Brazil. Historically, Bermudans use Yuca in a traditional Christmas pie. Colombians use it in “Enyucado,” a dessert of ground boiled Yuca, anise, sugar and guava jam. Yuca is also used for purees, dumplings, soups, and gravies. It is even used to make tapioca, most commonly found in tapioca pudding and as chips.
Cheezy Yuca Bites will be featured on the Pollo Tropical menu as a regular serving size of six pieces for only $2.39 and 12 pieces for $3.39. But get them quickly, as they will only be on the menu for a limited time!
