Nina Hobbs Recipient of 2012 Caregiver of the Year Award

Charleston resident selected as Home Care Assistance’s 2012 Caregiver of Year, outshining more than 3,000 employees

Charleston, SC (PRWEB) July 16, 2012 - Home Care Assistance, the leading provider of in-home care for seniors, is proud to announce that Nina Hobbs with Home Care Assistance of Greater Charleston is the recipient of the company’s 2012 Caregiver of the Year Award. The award was presented to Nina at the annual Convention held in Washington D.C. this past week in front of an audience of over 100 Home Care Assistance owners and operators. The prestigious award is presented each year to the caregiver who best exemplifies Home Care Assistance’s values and core beliefs; the award recipient is a person who embodies the company’s mission to change the way the world ages. The award recognized Nina’s commitment to excellence and unwavering compassion for her clients. Nina’s admirable professionalism, dedication and glowing client reviews helped her to stand out over 3,000 other caregivers across North America for the award.

“It takes a special person to work in this industry and Nina exemplifies what it means to be an exceptional caregiver,” said Ryan Coker, District Manager of the Charleston office. “Nina has those inherent intangibles such as integrity, honesty, compassion and intuition that cannot be taught through traditional training methods.”

Nina is well known for her respectful treatment of all clients, earning herself the unofficial title of “most requested caregiver.” Before beginning at Home Care Assistance of Greater Charleston, Nina graduated from the University of North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, obtaining her CNA license shortly thereafter. Her background has increased her ability to sense the needs of her clients, whether they are expressed outwardly or through contextual clues. According to one of Nina’s clients, Nina has “that ability to relate one-on-one with you and make you feel like family. There’s no way you can be in a bad mood around her and that’s the best medicine available." Nina plans to join the US Marine Corps as an officer this coming October and is considering becoming a registered nurse in the armed services.

The Caregiver of the Year Award Ceremony marked the end of a two-day Convention with speakers including Howard Behar, former CEO of Starbucks, where Home Care Assistance owners and corporate staff from across North America gathered to celebrate the company’s commitment to changing the way the world ages through high-caliber in-home care.
