Bojangles' of Southwest Virginia and Northeast North Carolina Raise $24,600 for MDA

July 18, 2012 // Franchising.com // Danville, Va. - Today Bojangles’ franchise group Tri-Arc announced that with the support of its loyal customers across southwest Virginia and northeast North Carolina, $24,600 has been raised during their annual Shamrocks Against Dystrophy® in-store fundraiser. Bojangles’ is celebrating a 14-year partnership with MDA this year and is proud to have raised nearly $2.3 million chain-wide in that timeframe to help win the fight against neuromuscular disease.

The Bojangles’ located on Sandy Court in Danville raised over $5,000 alone, the most funds being donated by a single store in the company’s footprint. Every dollar donated today will be used to send over 30 children to the local MDA Summer Camp, a one-of-a-kind magical place, offering children a wide range of activities specially designed for children ages six to 17 who are affected by neuromuscular disease.

Although the camp is structured, programs are conducted in a relaxed atmosphere that gives campers an unmatched opportunity to develop lifelong friendships, share interests and build self-confidence.

“We are blessed to have such generous team members and customers who are just as passionate about supporting MDA as we are,” said Tri-Arc Bojangles’ Franchise Unit Director Bill Sam. “MDA Summer Camp is the best week of the year for these children and it’s because of everyone’s support that we’re able to send more than 30 kids to MDA camp this year.”

Bojangles’ customers were given an opportunity this March to support MDA by purchasing a green shamrock for $1 or a gold shamrock for $5.
