Raising Cane’s Opens in Chalmette

CHALMETTE, La. (July 13, 2012) – Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers celebrated the grand opening of its newest restaurant in the Greater New Orleans area today with a series of activities, which included free chicken finger meals and the kickoff of a $1000 giveaway.

Droves of people lined up outside the Chalmette restaurant in hopes of being one of the first customers. Cane’s gave its first 100 dine-in customers a Raising Cane’s commemorative T-shirt and a Box Combo gift certificate.

Including a ribbon cutting with the St. Bernard Parish Chamber of Commerce, the opening ceremony also kicked off the restaurant’s Give Back Giveaway where the winner can donate $1,000 to his or her favorite local charity, in addition to receiving Free Cane’s for a Year. Guests can register to win the Give Back Giveaway by visiting the Raising Cane’s restaurant in Chalmette now through July 19.

“We are overwhelmed by the response of this community,” said David Odom, general manager. “We knew that Chalmette residents were Caniacs, and they surely proved that today.”

The new Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is located at 8113 W. Judge Perez Drive, near Walmart Supercenter. The restaurant will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to midnight.

The opening of the Chalmette location marks the 13th Raising Cane’s in the Greater New Orleans area and the first in St. Bernard Parish. The restaurant is Raising Cane’s 129th restaurant in 16 states and the 55th in Louisiana.

For the fifth consecutive year, Louisiana-based Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers was recently honored as one of the top quick-service restaurant chains in the country for customer satisfaction according to Sandelman & Associates’ Quick-Track study released earlier this month. The chain placed second for best overall service among 150 restaurants studied and was the highest-rated restaurant company for temperature of food, accuracy in filling orders, and cleanliness of restaurants.
