Bojangles' Announces 2012 Recipients Of Jack Fulk Scholarships

July 26, 2012 // Franchising.com // Charlotte, N.C. - Six Bojangles’ team members and four immediate family members have been named the recipients of the Bojangles’ Scholarship Award. These ten $1,000 academic scholarships are awarded in memory of Bojangles’ co-founder Jack Fulk, who passed away in 2011. His passion for great food and great people is the foundation for the Bojangles’ Scholarship Award. The ten recipients of this year’s scholarships include: - Syed Ahmed of Kinston, N.C. - Michael Furr of Kannapolis, N.C. - Katherine Jessup of Thomasville, N.C. - Austin Kyle of Athens, Tenn. - Steven McDuffie of Simpsonville, S.C. - Brianna McLean of Dunn, N.C. - Leslie Morales of Siler City, N.C. - Elizabeth Spear of Suffolk, V.A. - Nicholas Timbers of Greer, S.C. - Elise Volger of Apex, N.C.

“Bojangles’ is honored to continue Jack Fulk’s vision by awarding these ten deserving individuals with an opportunity to further their education,” said Bojangles’ President and CEO Randy Kibler. “We know Jack would be proud of the educational opportunities this program will provide for these Bojangles’ team members and their families for years to come.”

The scholarships are available to all Bojangles’ team members and their immediate family members. Bojangles’ selected 36 qualified finalists from the applications submitted, and the top 10 were chosen at random from the pool of finalists. Raj Pathak, Bojangles’ franchisee for 10 years, had the honor of drawing the 10 winning names at the Bojangles’ Support Center in Charlotte. Each of the $1,000 scholarships awarded this month will be used toward tuition for the academic semester that begins in August.
