Jamba Juice Expands Presence in Connecticut with Signed Franchise Agreement

Local Entrepreneur Signs Development Agreement for Five New Jamba Juice Stores

August 07, 2012 // Franchising.com // FAIRFIELD, Connecticut - With the goal of bringing a healthy, active lifestyle brand to fans in his local community, David Katz, principal of Five Star Equity Partners, LLC, celebrated the signing of an agreement with Jamba Juice® for the rights to open five stores in Connecticut over the next several years.

“Jamba Juice is a renowned specialty beverage and food destination, and I am excited to expand its presence here in Connecticut,” said . David Katz of Five Star Equity Partners, LLC, which is leading Jamba’s franchise expansion in Connecticut. “We have experienced tremendous success with our first joint Jamba-Bruegger’s Bagels store serving the Orange, Connecticut area, and are very excited to expand this concept.”

Katz anticipates opening his next joint concept location in May 2013 and is currently looking for suitable locations, including at least one shopping mall. Each location will accommodate both a Jamba Juice and Bruegger’s Bagels outlet and will carry traditional Jamba® smoothies and juices with a limited snack menu.

This is the second Jamba Juice store agreement for local Orange, Connecticut entrepreneur and franchisee, David Katz and who is also the franchise operator of the adjacent Bruegger’s Bakery. Katz was the winner of the 2011 Orange Economic Development Corporation’s Business Person of the Year and is a graduate of the Center for Culinary Arts (Cromwell, Connecticut). He honed his chef skills in several high-end restaurant kitchens in New Haven, Connecticut. For Katz, the investment in Jamba Juice represents an opportunity to bring a nationally recognized health and wellness brand to his local community, friends, and family and further the mission to inspire and simplify healthy living.
