Local Residents to Bring Fresh Restaurant Concept to Richmond
CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. - August 17, 2012 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Saladworks, the nation’s first and largest fresh-tossed salad franchise concept, is opening its first Saladworks in Richmond, at The Corner at Short Pump on 11845 West Broad St.
Saladworks celebrates the opening of the Richmond, VA location by offering $5 salads to all customers on August 20th and 21st. Saladworks is also extending the celebration on Saturday, August 25th by offering $5 salads and family-friendly activities such as face painting and hourly prize giveaways to all Corner at Short Pump shoppers.
Richmond Saladworks is co-owned and operated by Kevin Long and Travis Miller, who have been friends and tennis partners since childhood. Both Kevin and Travis spent much of their careers in the financial industry. During the economic downturn, they saw a unique opportunity to realize the American dream and own their own business. After months of searching for a new enterprise, they returned to an old passion that they both share: food. Saladworks’ successful track record and dedication to customer service appealed to Kevin and Travis. They looked at numerous brands before opening a Saladworks franchise. “We’re excited to be the first to bring this kind of healthy food to Richmond,” said Long. “There just isn’t anything else like it here.”
Travis Miller is dedicated to the enrichment of the community where both he and Long were raised. “We’re not out-of-towners, opening a business and forgetting about it,” Miller said. “We have every intention to support the community we grew up in.”
