Realogy Employees Donate Supply-Filled Backpacks for Homeless Guests of the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center in Morristown, N.J.

August 28, 2012 // Franchising.com // Morristown, N.J. — The Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center in Morristown, N.J., received donations of 100 filled backpacks from real estate and relocation global services provider Realogy Corporation and its employees. This is the third consecutive year that Realogy has donated the backpacks and the company’s employees have volunteered to shop for and fill them with needed items including clothing, toiletries and school supplies to help guests of the soup kitchen.

“The smiles and ‘thank you’s’ received as the Realogy backpacks were distributed to our guests this week were heartwarming,” said Marla Drury, director of development, Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center. “Thanks to all that Realogy and its employees have done by purchasing the backpacks, coordinating the backpack drive, and donating their time and resources to fill the backpacks – to overflowing capacity!”

The backpack and school supplies drives were organized by Realogy Cares, the New Jersey Chapter of the Realogy Charitable Foundation that is organized and run by employee volunteers, and located at the Company’s Parsippany headquarters, which is scheduled to move to Madison, N.J., in the first quarter of 2013.

“After three years of participating in this backpack drive, our employees continue to show their desire to help others and provide supplies to the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center, which does a tremendous job every day to help the homeless and working poor, and we are proud to support this fine organization,” said Dave Weaving, chief administrative officer, Realogy Corporation.
