Transitioning from Touchdowns to Toilets with Alliance Maintenance
Oklahoma Native Resigns as Head Football Coach at Dordt College in Iowa and Finds Immediate Success in Janitorial Industry
OKLAHOMA CITY - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Alliance Maintenance of Oklahoma City, a licensee of Alliance Maintenance, Inc., is excited to announce that John Heavner has accepted a position as Operations Manager.
Heavner resigned last November as the Head Football Coach at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. Formerly, Heavner served as the Offensive Coordinator at East Central University in Ada and the Quarterbacks Coach at Missouri State University. He played football at Norman High School (1992-1994) and at East Central University (1994-1997).
“The reason I left coaching was to move home to Norman, spend more time with family, and to help build Alliance in the Oklahoma City metro area,” said Heavner. “We moved home in December and I’ve loved being back.
“The cleaning business is a great business. I get to wake up every day and be around people that work really hard to create a clean, safe, healthy and happy environment. The cleaning business is underappreciated in society and I intend to change that!
“It may sound strange, but molding and motivating cleaning crews is a lot like working with a football team. People are simply hungry for direction and leadership in whatever they’re doing.”
Heavner is off to a great start. He began working with Alliance in late January and has sold janitorial services to 25 customers since that time.
