Build-A-Bear Workshop Raises Funds for Children’s Cancer Causes in Honor of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

ST. LOUIS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Sep. 4, 2012 - Build-A-Bear Workshop®, the interactive retailer of customized stuffed animals, is inviting Guests to visit stores across the country to help support children’s cancer causes from September 4 through September 16. In Canada, Guests can support the cause by purchasing purple satin hearts for $1 in all Canadian stores. In addition, throughout the year, Guests may purchase Champ- A Champion Fur Kids™ bear and for each Champ bear purchased, Build-A-Bear Workshop will donate $1 to support children’s cancer and other health and wellness causes.

“Build-A-Bear Workshop is dedicated to supporting causes that matter most to our Guests, including the almost 13,000 children under the age of 21 diagnosed with cancer every year in the United States,” said Maxine Clark, Build-A-Bear Workshop founder and chief executive bear. “We are proud to support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and help raise funds for research and family support for those affected by children’s cancer.”

This is the seventh consecutive year that Build-A-Bear Workshop has raised funds in support of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Build-A-Bear Workshop and its corporate foundations provide grants to a variety of children’s cancer causes throughout the year to help children affected with cancer in the United States and Canada.
