Military Vet Invests in Dryer Vent Wizard to Help Prevent Fires

AURORA, CO - (Marketwire - Sep 18, 2012) - Fully appreciating the tragedy and memories associated with the date of September 11, former U.S. serviceman Neil Boyer chose this year's anniversary to officially launch his new business as franchise owner of Dryer Vent Wizard (DVW) in Aurora.

"Having spent time serving in the military in Iraq and Afghanistan following 9/11, I chose the date to signify a fresh start for me and my wife Elena," said Boyer, who recently invested in the specialty franchise that helps prevent dryer vent fires.

The couple partnered with the Aurora Chamber of Commerce for an official ribbon cutting ceremony held at the Chamber offices.

A member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), DVW is a rapidly growing national franchise that specializes in dryer vent repair, replacement, alteration, cleaning and maintenance for residential and commercial clients. There are currently more than 60 franchises serving 300 communities throughout the United States.

It is estimated that 17,700 fires are caused by clothes dryers annually, accounting for an average of 15 deaths, 360 injuries and $194 million in property damages.

During National Fire Prevention Month in October, DVW of Aurora will be among dozens of franchises available to give free service demonstrations at local fire stations.

"Another benefit to this business is that we devote much of our time to educating people about how to prevent fires, improve dryer efficiency and save money," added Boyer.

Service appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information or to schedule an appointment, visit www.DryerVentWizard.com or call 866-498-SAFE (7233).
