Taft Attorney Sonya Jindal Appointed to American Cancer Society Advisory Board of Directors

September 19, 2012 // Franchising.com // CINCINNATI, OHIO – Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is pleased to announce that Sonya S. Jindal, an attorney in Taft’s Cincinnati office has been appointed to serve on the American Cancer Society Advisory Board of Directors. The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. It is the largest non-governmental funder of cancer research in the United States.

Sonya Jindal is an attorney in the Tax Practice Group at Taft. She received her bachelor’s degree in Finance from Xavier University, graduating cum laude. She received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and her L.L.M. in Taxation from Northwestern University School of Law. Jindal focuses her practice on a broad range of tax matters, including federal tax planning and civil and white collar criminal tax litigation. She has experience is all aspects of federal tax planning and dispute work, including corporate acquisitions and dispositions, spin-offs, financings, joint ventures and partnerships, restructurings, real estate, financial products and cross-border transactions.

Jindal is a Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America – Young Professional Leadership Network. She is also a member of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber C-Change Leadership Development Program, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Emmanuel Community Center. Jindal was recently elected Co-President of the Board of Directors of the Squint Project. She also volunteers for the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati Volunteer Lawyers Project.
