Just Between Friends Franchise System Promoting National Baby Safety Month by Educating Families Nationwide about Recalls and Shopping Safety

Just Between Friends Children's Consignment works with safety groups to educate families across the country about recalls and make sure that there are no recalled items at their consignment events across the country.

Tulsa, Okla. (PRWEB) September 28, 2012 - In recognition of National Baby Safety Month, the nation’s leading children’s and maternity consignment event is promoting safe shopping at its fall and winter consignment events. Just Between Friends Children’s Consignmenthas 124 locations in 24 states all run by local parents. Each location has two big consignment events a year where local families sign up to sell the new and gently used children’s and maternity items their families have outgrown. At the same time, families in these communities can save between 30 and 90 percent on items they need for their families.

While Just Between Friends strives to help families save money, their top priority is safety. These are “moms selling to moms” so their first concern is safety. September is Baby Safety Month and the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) is working to educate parents about how to safely buy second hand products. That is something Just Between Friends does at every event all year long.

The moms who organize this event take extra precautions to ensure their products are safe, checking items and reviewing recall lists. Just Between Friends also has aDirector of Product Safety and Recalls who tracks all recalls and educates consignors and shoppers. Kami Snowbarger is also certified with Safe Kids and just this month she met with the Consumer Product Safety Commission at their first annual Safety Academy in Bethesda, MD. The academy provided attendees an opportunity to hear first-hand discussions about current requirements, testing and certification of children’s products, the mandatory toy standard, and compliance issues. Kami was also among a few of the attendees that were given a tour of the CPSC’s National Product Testing & Evaluation Center.

"We are first and foremost a family organization. While our events help families across the country save money by buying gently used items, we never want to sacrifice safety for savings. We work to constantly educate our franchise owners, our shoppers and consignors. That is why we have a Safety and Recall Specialist on staff,” says Just Between Friends Franchise SystemsCEO, Shannon Wilburn.

Just Between Friends Safety and Recall Specialist Kami Snowbarger is available for interviews and is a great resource on product safety and shopping second hand. CEO Shannon Wilburn is also available for interviews. We can also find families for interviews, photos and video.
