‘50s Style Diner Will Co-Sponsor Angela Cope at Dollar General 300

October 03, 2012 // Franchising.com // Mount Olive, NC - Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries, the N.C.-based ‘50s-style restaurant chain known for its classic cheeseburgers, shakes and frozen custard, is teaming up with Angela Cope to co-sponsor her car at the Dollar General 300 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C. The race will take place Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live by ESPN.

For the Dollar General 300, Angela will be racing for SR2 Motorsports in the team’s No. 00 Toyota, which will be painted pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In addition to Hwy 55, Angela will also be sponsored by Highland Wealth Advisers and Luichiny® Shoes. Although Twin sister Amber Cope will not race this event, she will cheer her sister on trackside.

“We’re excited to co-sponsor such a talented driver at one of the nation’s premier NASCAR events,” said Kenny Moore, Founder and President of Hwy 55. “We can’t wait to watch Angela race.”

Amber and Angela Cope already have a place in NASCAR history. They are the first Twins ever to compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, a legacy they secured when they raced against one another at the Iowa John Deere Dealers 250 in 2011. Racing is in their blood: they are the nieces of 1990 Daytona 500 champion Derrike Cope, and the Dollar General 300 is another step to continue the family legacy.

The Cope twins and Hwy 55 will celebrate with a team dinner and special appearance on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. at the new Hwy 55, located at 4433 School House Commons in Harrisburg, N.C. Fans are encouraged to attend.
