Massage Envy Healing Hands for Arthritis Raises $2,000

Fort Myers, FL, October 05, 2012 - (PR.com) - Massage Envy and the Arthritis Foundation joined forces to host Healing Hands for Arthritis, a one-day national event to build awareness and raise funds to fight arthritis on September 19, 2012. Massage Envy locations in Southwest Florida donated $10 from every one-hour massage or facial to the Arthritis Foundation. Massage Envy locations in Fort Myers, Naples and Estero participated and raised $2,000. This one-day, nationwide event is expected to raise $500,000 for the Arthritis Foundation.

"We thank our wonderful members and guests along with our terrific therapists and clinic staff that helped make this event a huge success,” said Gordon Kaufman, Southwest Florida Massage Envy owner. “Arthritis affects 50 million adults and 300,000 children. This support helps the Arthritis Foundation continue to fund arthritis education, research, advocacy and other vital programs to improve the lives of those living with the pain of arthritis.”

Murad®, Massage Envy Spa’s exclusive skin care partner, also donated 10 percent of all sales from their products sold at Massage Envy Spa locations during the event to the Arthritis Foundation.

Massage Envy and the Arthritis Foundation share a common understanding about the devastating effects of arthritis on the body and the potential for massage therapy to relieve and control certain symptoms. Massage therapy can play an important role in alleviating the pain and swelling caused by arthritis, improving flexibility and circulation and reducing stress and anxiety.

In addition to hosting Healing Hands for Arthritis, Massage Envy is a national sponsor of the Arthritis Foundation’s signature event, Arthritis Walk®. Massage Envy owners from across the country have been and continue to have a presence at their local Arthritis Walk events to share information about the benefits of massage therapy, provide chair massages and support the Arthritis Foundation’s mission.

Massage Envy Southwest Florida locations include Summerlin Crossing in Fort Myers, Coconut Point in Estero, Boulevard Shops in Naples and coming soon to the Shoppes of Santa Barbara in Cape Coral. For more information visit MassageEnvy.com.
