Leading Up to the Finals, 677 Teams Competed in 5 Regions Across the United States to Earn a Spot

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 16, 2012 // GLOBE NEWSWIRE // - In one of the biggest BBQ challenges in the world, Famous Dave's of America, Inc. (Nasdaq:DAVE) "Wilbur's Revenge" BBQ Team placed in the top 50 teams, out of 677 teams competing for the prestigious honor of taking part in the contest . The Sam's Club® National BBQ Tour Championship took place on October 12 & 13 in Bentonville, Arkansas, and is a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned event, considered to be one of the largest on record with over $150,000 in cash prizes, with a total of $500,000 given out during the entire competition. In addition to taking honors as a top 50 finalist, Famous Dave's® also took home top honors in the Tyson's® "Best Wing on the Planet" category.

The Wilbur's Revenge Competition BBQ Team is led by David Marks, a long-time BBQ enthusiast and Famous Dave's® franchisee based out of Philadelphia, PA.
