Get in Shape for Women Opens 100th Location

Growing Fitness Franchise Continues Expansion, Marks First Area Representative Agreement

October 23, 2012 // Franchising.com // Needham, Mass. - Get In Shape For Women, the national fitness studio franchise that offers small-group personal training for women in a private, upscale environment, will open its 100th location Friday, Nov. 2 in La Grange, Ill. The new studio – the company’s first Illinois location – also marks the beginning of an expansion initiative in which area representatives will sign development agreements to solicit and support additional studios in their designated territories.

“We are incredibly excited to open our 100th location and begin recruiting area representatives in key markets across the country to strategically and aggressively grow this brand,” said CEO and Founder Brian Cook. “We have built a strong foundation and streamlining franchise growth in this way will allow us to expand quicker than ever before.”

Continuing to meet the growing need for alternative fitness solutions, Get In Shape For Women plans to add 20-25 locations nationwide by the end of 2013, growing 25 percent each year after that toward its eventual goal of 5,000 locations worldwide.

“The grand opening of our first Illinois location marks our continued commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle for women everywhere,” company president Lou DeFrancisco added. “We look forward to a future of continued growth and success for our company.”

The La Grange studio is owned by Maureen Nosek, who signed on as Get In Shape For Women’s first area representative. As AR for the state of Illinois, Nosek will personally own one studio and will locate and solicit 9 additional territories throughout her geographic region over the next 3-5 years. In exchange, Nosek will earn 50 percent of the franchise fee for all new studios, as well as 50 percent of total royalties for the franchises she signs.

The company plans to sign similar area representative agreements in 5-10 additional territories in 2013, with one agreement being awarded per state. Target markets include New York, Connecticut, Maryland and North Carolina. Area representatives will receive additional training from the corporate office to support their ongoing growth.

Cook and DeFrancisco will both appear at the grand opening in La Grange in November. The celebration will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, public tours of the facility, and other special events throughout the day.
