Embassy Suites Knoxville West Celebrates Topping Out

Upscale, All Suites Hotel Appoints Management Team for Scheduled Mid-2013 Opening

October 25, 2012 // Franchising.com // McLEAN, Va. – Embassy Suites Hotels, the upscale, all-suites hotel brand, announced today the “topping out” of Embassy Suites Knoxville West, signifying that the project has reached its maximum height and the structural framework is complete. Owned and managed by Kana Hotel Group, the 140-suite, six-story Design Option III hotel is being built at 9621 Parkside Drive, near the Turkey Creek and Cedar Bluff areas of Knoxville, Tennessee. Embassy Suites Knoxville West will be the Knoxville area’s first full-service hotel to open in twenty-five years. Construction began in May 2012, and the hotel is scheduled to open in April 2013. Embassy Suites’ recently appointed global head John Rogers will be in attendance at a celebration hosted by the hotel this afternoon to commemorate the milestone.

In conjunction with the topping out announcement, Embassy Suites Knoxville West and Kana Hotel Group are also pleased to reveal the appointment of the hotel’s general manager, Andy Hodges, and director of sales, Kris Reagan. Hodges joins the Embassy Suites Knoxville West from Springmaid Beach Resort, where he served as assistant general manager, while his industry experiences also include general manager positions at Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn. He earned his degree in business management from Marshall University and is a member of Knoxville Tourism Alliance, American Hotel & Lodging Association and Farragut/West Knoxville Chamber of Commerce. Reagan brings nearly 25 years of industry experience to her role, where she will oversee the hotel’s sales and marketing operations. She has held multiple positions within Hilton Worldwide, most recently serving as the general manager for the Hilton Garden Inn Gatlinburg. She has a business administration & sociology degree from the University of Tennessee and has served on the Board of Directors for Gatlinburg and Chattanooga's Chambers of Commerce.

Embassy Suites Knoxville West is being constructed in the brand’s Design Option III style. The innovative and flexible design features a variety of side-by-side suites, shotgun suites and one-room suites in addition to a contemporary atrium area. The design decreases the amount of land needed and creates efficiencies for both construction and operational costs. These features also further enhance the guest experience, as there is still a great sense of space and more natural light in guest rooms and public areas like the atrium.

Embassy Suites Knoxville West will also feature all of the signature amenities standard at any Embassy Suites hotel, including free cooked-to-order breakfast each morning, a two-hour Complimentary Evening Reception* and two-room suites with a separate living area, private bedroom, two flat-screen high-definition televisions and wet bar fitted with a microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker. The hotel will also house over 9,000 square feet of meeting space and offer complimentary fitness and business centers. Embassy Suites Knoxville West is expected to employ approximately 60 team members upon completion.
