Extra Innings Teams with NPF Softball for Nationwide Sports Clinics

Pro Athletes will Coach Skills Workshops at Extra Innings Facilities Nationwide

Middleton, Mass. (PRWEB) October 25, 2012 - Baseball and softball training center franchiseExtra Innings recently announced a new collaboration with National Pro Fastpitch that will bring professional softball players to Extra Innings facilities for special sports clinics beginning this fall.

The clinics will connect aspiring athletes with softball pros for skills clinics and sports practice. The daylong events will have two sessions divided by age and skill level. The morning session, designed for younger players, will focus on early development drills while the afternoon portion, targeted at older girls, will concentrate on improving mechanics and practicing fundamental skills. Participants will also learn more about what it takes to play the sport at higher levels.

“These clinics are a great way to get more girls excited about softball and playing sports in general,” said Ashley Varano, Extra Innings’ director of marketing. “We’re also excited to promote National Pro Fastpitch and get more recognition for such a great organization.”

The featured athletes include Brittany McKinney, Sharon Palma, Hillary Bach, Victoria Galindo, Ashley Charter, and Megan Wiggins. They come from diverse athletic backgrounds including collegiate, professional, and national team play, and some, like Galindo, have Olympic medals and world championship titles under their belts. Others, like McKinney and Palma, have coaching experience.

“This is a truly unique opportunity for everyone from passionate high school players to girls who may not have a lot of experience,” Varano said. “Girls will have a chance to learn from some of the NPF’s best players and take advantage of Extra Innings’ outstanding facilities.”

Currently, there are eight events scheduled at Extra Innings franchises nationwide between October and February, with additional clinics being added regularly. The clinics will kick off at Extra Innings Midland-Odessa in Midland, TX on Oct. 27.
