FirstLight HomeCare Franchisee of the Year, John and Jane Moyer, Dayton, Ohio, Recognized for Outstanding Contributions to Franchising

FirstLight HomeCare Franchise owners, John and Jane Moyer from Dayton, Ohio, were recognized in Washington, DC for their Outstanding Contributions to Franchising by the International Franchise Association (IFA).

Dayton, OH (PRWEB) October 25, 2012 - FirstLight HomeCare Franchise owners, John and Jane Moyer from Dayton, Ohio, were recognized in Washington, DC for their Outstanding Contributions to Franchising by the International Franchise Association (IFA). As FirstLight HomeCare’s Franchisee of the Year, the Moyers continue to expand their in-home care business, now with four franchises around the Southwest Ohio area.

John and Jane Moyer received the Franchisee of the Year award from FirstLight HomeCare for their success in their in-home care business. This sparked the attention of the International Franchise Association who invited the Moyers to Washington DC to take part in their 13th Annual Public Affairs Conference. During the two-day event, John was part of more then 400 business leaders who had the opportunity to meet with more than 200 politicians.

“The IFA is proud to recognize the outstanding efforts of John and Jane Moyer with the Franchisee of the Year Award,” said IFA Chairman Jon Luther. The franchising community is an important component of the U.S. economy due to the hard work of these exemplary individuals who have helped bolster the growth of the industry.”

The Franchisee of the Year Award is a major part of the IFA’s Public Affairs Conference. These business owners have the opportunity of taking the messages of franchising to the politicians and lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Issues such as tax certainty, healthcare reform and access to credit are just a sampling of the things discussed at these vital meetings. The Public Affairs Conference is a powerful way to help create awareness about the value of franchising and how it contributes to the overall economic recover and job growth. The event was supported by founding sponsor ADP Small Business Solutions.

According to a recent study conducted for the IFA Educational Foundation by PricewaterhouseCoopers, there are more than 825,000 franchised businesses in the USA, responsible for more than 18 million jobs and generating $2.1 trillion in economic output. The Ohio economy is projected to create nearly 250,000 new jobs over the 2008-2018 period, primarily in service-providing industries according to the 2018 Ohio Job Outlook report.

As our population ages, FirstLight HomeCare becomes a vital service in helping seniors and disabled people stay in their own homes, creating a sense of independence and pride. The Moyers began their relationship with FirstLight HomeCare after helping to care for their aging parents. It was at that time they realized the benefits and rewards of home health care.

“For people to remain in their own homes as long as possible is an invaluable asset—both to the mental and emotional well being of the client, as well as to the rest of the family. Many times a family is forced to make decisions on changing their lifestyles to find the time needed for their loved ones. FirstLight HomeCare allows them to choose as little as three hours to as much as full time, non-medical care for their family,” said Jane Moyer.
