Dahn Yoga Monthly News Highlights the Celebration of Korean Alphabet in October

Dahn Yoga & Health Centers, Inc., a national leader in health and wellness, informs practitioners about its Korean heritage through its monthly newsletter, Dahn Yoga Life. This month, Dahn Yoga celebrates the creation of the Korean Alphabet.

Gilbert, AZ (PRWEB) October 25, 2012 - Dahn Yoga & Health Centers, Inc., a national leader in health and wellness, now features a new Korean Culture section for practitioners in their newsletter, Dahn Yoga Life. Every monthly issue offers an in-depth look at an important aspect of Korean culture and how it is reflected within Dahn Yoga community life.

The October issue highlights the creation of the Korean alphabet known as Hangul. In Korea, October 9 is “Hangul Day” which honors the unique heritage of the alphabet created by King Sejong the Great. In 1443, this benevolent king, along with a team of scholars, developed a system of reading and writing to promote literacy among the Korean people.

Many Dahn Yoga practitioners may become exposed to Korean words and phrases in Dahn Yoga classes, and may even see something written in Korean in the Dahn Yoga center. However, they may not know about the uniquely humanitarian origins of the Korean alphabet. This is but one opportunity for Dahn Yoga practitioners to become better acquainted with the message of the Hongik philosophy—For the good of all—through the benevolent legacy of King Sejong, who created a excellent yet simple writing system anyone can learn.

Dahn Yoga Life will highlight additional Korean cultural points and community celebrations in the remaining months of the year. The special section of the newsletter provides Dahn Yoga practitioners insight into the Korean culture which informs the practice they enjoy.
