October 26, 2012 // Franchising.com // DENVER, COLORADO – Pure Barre, the fastest, most effective way for women to change the shape of their body, today announced the opening of its 100th location nationwide, a watershed moment for the fitness company that only began franchising in July, 2009 and is now located in 30 states.
The newest franchise, located in Wilmington, North Carolina, is the 31st franchise to open in 2012 and the seventh overall in North Carolina.
“We are proud to celebrate this occasion with all 100 of our franchises and the thousands of Pure Barre enthusiasts who have embraced the Pure Barre lifestyle over the years,” said Carrie Dorr, Founder & CEO of Pure Barre.
The ballet barre workout has exploded in popularity since its inception in 2001. Focusing on the areas of the body women struggle with the most, Pure Barre lifts the seat and tapers the hips, tones the thighs and upper body and burns fat in record-breaking time through small isometric movements centered around a ballet barre.
An accomplished dancer and choreographer, Dorr opened her first studio in the basement of a Birmingham, Michigan office building in 2001. After expanding the company into Southern California, Dorr began franchising and built out Pure Barre headquarters in Denver, CO. Since then, Pure Barre has launched 10 at-home DVDs, a skin care line, a nutrition bar line, Pure Barre apparel, and the first set of Pure Barre prenatal workout DVDs, arriving this fall.
“I’ve always viewed Pure Barre as more than just a workout but as a lifestyle brand for women to transform their bodies and their lives,” Dorr said. “The continued growth of Pure Barre across the country is a testament to the brand’s ability to resonate with a passionate Pure Barre community, and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate this milestone and many more milestones to come.”
Pure Barre is celebrating throughout the month of October with commemorative 100th location tanks and Pure Barre history trivia contests on Facebook.
Founded in 2001, Pure Barre is the fastest, most effective workout on the market for women looking to transform their body and tone their abs, arms, butt and thighs. Now with 100 studios across the country, more and more women are taking control of their bodies and living the Pure Barre lifestyle.
