Mississauga, Ontario – November 2, 2012 – Metal Supermarkets Franchising Family of Companies bestowed its highest honor, Franchisee of the Year, on Norm Hanson at the 2012 Annual Metal Supermarkets Conference. Hanson is the owner of two Metal Supermarkets branches in Edmonton, Alberta and one in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Franchisee of the Year Award is given annually to the franchisee exhibiting the highest level of performance in areas such as growth, customer service, safety and operations. Additionally, their branches best embody the spirit of Metal Supermarkets’ mission, vision and core values.
Hanson, who has been with Metal Supermarkets for 20 years, owns three franchise locations that consistently rank highly in revenues, and have grown on a continued basis at approximately 15% for the last two years. In addition to his Metal Supermarkets branches, Hanson owns Thermex Metal Treating Ltd. a commercial heat treating company in Edmonton. This growth is due to consistent and superior delivery of service to customers, and his refusal to rest on his laurels. He plans to open a fourth location in Saskatoon, and has been an important brand supporter for Metal Supermarkets.
“Norm has been instrumental in sharing his Metal Supermarkets experience with others. His brother- and sister-in-law own and operate successful locations in the Seattle area, a former employee operates in Salt Lake City, and another former employee operates in Vancouver. We are grateful for his enthusiasm and commitment to our brand. With an advocate like Norm, we will continue to grow and other franchisees will reap the rewards of his wisdom and experience,” said Stephen Schober, Metal Supermarkets’ President and CEO.
“I am very pleased to receive the Metal Supermarkets 2012 Franchisee of the Year,” Hanson said. “This achievement reflects the very hard work of my team, and the staff’s ongoing commitment to deliver on the Metal Supermarkets brand promise. I am thankful to them for their hard work and dedication. We have enjoyed great success with the Metal Supermarkets brand, and I look forward to our continuing participation in the organization,” Hanson said.
