Glass Doctor® Franchisees Raise More Than $13,000 for Ronald McDonald House® of Dallas

November 14, 2012 // Franchising.com // WACO, Texas – Glass Doctor President Mark Liston and Franchisee of the Year Larry Patterson of Glass Doctor of North Texas presented a $13,376 donation check to the Ronald McDonald House® of Dallas (RMHD) Tuesday.

Glass Doctor franchisees raised the money at The Dwyer Group® 2012 Reunion held Sept. 23 – 26 at the Gaylord Texan, located in Grapevine, Texas. Nearly 90 Glass Doctor franchisees in the U.S. and Canada participated in the fundraising event.

Franchisees and vendors led an impromptu talent show to raise funds for the charity, in addition to a scheduled auction for Glass Doctor 50th Anniversary memorabilia and Ronald McDonald House Charities® paintings by corporate staff.

“The results of the auction are a testament to the love in the hearts of Glass Doctor franchisees,” Liston said.

Glass Doctor and its sister companies in The Dwyer Group (Aire Serv® Air Conditioning and Heating, The Grounds Guys®, Mr. Appliance®, Mr. Electric®, Mr. Rooter® and Rainbow International®) are national supporters of Ronald McDonald House Charities®. As part of their support, franchise owners continue to donate their services, labor and supplies to Ronald McDonald Houses in their respective service areas.

The Ronald McDonald House program provides a home-away-from-home, so families can stay close by their hospitalized child. Ronald McDonald Houses across the globe allow families to face the weight of an illness together. RMHD suggests a contribution of $15 per night to offset the costs of lodging, meals, transportation, and many other services. This donation will help pay for nearly 900 nights at the "home-away-from home for families who cannot afford to pay.
