Tulsa "Caniacs" Await Black Friday Opening

Raising Cane’s to Open First Tulsa Restaurant at Midnight, Nov. 23rd

November 23, 2012 - Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, one of the fastest-growing restaurant brands in the nation, is opening its first Tulsa location at midnight on Friday, November 23rd. The Woodland Hills Mall location is Cane’s 7th in Oklahoma, and the 143rd overall across 17 states.

Fans of the Louisiana-based chain – known as Caniacs – have been eagerly anticipating the restaurant’s arrival. Known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – Cane’s serves only fresh, never ever frozen, premium chicken tenderloins, along with crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, sweet tea and its secret recipe Cane’s sauce that guests crave as much as the chicken.

General Manager Pieter Kreulen says the buzz has been building for weeks, as mall visitors have noticed Cane’s signage in the food court area.

“It’s amazing how many Caniacs there are in Tulsa already, and we haven’t even opened up yet,” said Kreulen. “They tell me they’ve been to our restaurants in other Oklahoma markets, or even in Louisiana, and they can’t wait to dip some chicken fingers in our Cane’s sauce. It’s great to see their smiles when I tell them we’re just a couple days away.”

Raising Cane’s is in the midst of a rapid expansion across Oklahoma and other states. The company is a recognized industry leader in customer service and is distinguished by its generous support of the communities it serves.

On November 17th, Kreulen and his crewmembers volunteered at the 7th annual Route 66 Marathon, manning a refreshment stop and cheering on the runners.

“Active support in our local communities is a huge part of Raising Cane’s corporate DNA, so you’ll be seeing us getting heavily involved in Tulsa’s schools and non-profit organizations over the coming months and years,” said Kreulen.

Doors will open to the public at 12:00 a.m. (that’s right, midnight) Friday, November 23rd … better known as “Black Friday.” The first 100 paying customers will receive a commemorative Tulsa Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit. (The voucher is not valid on Opening Day.)

Between November 23 and December 13, Woodland Hills Mall customers will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with a pair of tickets to George Strait’s concert in Oklahoma City on January 19, 2013.

The drawing will be held during the restaurant’s grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 AM on December 13th, in conjunction with the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce.
