Roetzel Welcomes Dr. Verne A. Luckow to the Intellectual Property Group as Senior Counsel

December 04, 2012 // Franchising.com // Roetzel is pleased to announce that Dr. Verne A. Luckow has joined the firm's Intellectual Property Group as Senior Counsel. Dr. Luckow will be working in the firm's Fort Lauderdale office.

"We are enormously pleased to have Verne join the Roetzel team," said Mike Keller, a Partner in Roetzel's Intellectual Property Group. "His many years of experience as a research scientist and his background in molecular biology will add great breadth and depth to our patent and life sciences intellectual property practices."

Dr. Luckow focuses his practice on intellectual property and technology issues affecting pharmaceutical and biotechnology products and services. Representative matters include patent procurement, portfolio analysis, technology assessment, licensing, patent term adjustments, patent term extensions, and complementary regulatory exclusivity periods. Dr. Luckow has also counseled clients in regulatory affairs for the food and drug products industry, particularly novel and follow-on biopharmaceuticals, and providing strategic scientific, legal, and business planning services.

Dr. Luckow received his J.D. from the St. Louis University School of Law. He also holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and a B.S. degree in Biochemistry, both from the University of Wisconsin. He is admitted to the practice of law before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in the states of Missouri and Washington.
