Giant Tiger Collects Almost 2 Tons of Food for Ottawa Food Bank

Ottawa, ON – December 13, 2012 – Several Ottawa area Giant Tiger stores have been collecting food donations during November and December in partnership with CTV Morning Live for the Ottawa Food Bank. The drive culminated today with the on-air announcement and live presentation of 3,671 LBS of non-perishable food items, just shy of 2 tons!

During the live morning broadcast viewers were encouraged to swing by one of 3 locations to get their last minute donations in until 10:00 a.m.

  • Giant Tiger – 2480 Walkley Road, Ottawa, ON
  • Giant Tiger – 1 Stafford Road, Bells Corners, ON
  • Giant Tiger – 2016 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa, ON

As part of the campaign Giant Tiger Home Office and Warehouse locations held a friendly competition to see who could collect the most non-perishable food items. Home Office narrowly beat out the Warehouse by collecting 790 LBS of food. However the true winner of the day was the Ottawa Food Bank!
