ColorTyme Names Steve Leach Franchise of the Year, Donates $55,000 to Kids Across America During Final Day of National Convention

January 23, 2013 // Franchising.com // FRISCO, Texas – The 2013 ColorTyme National Convention ended on a high note with a number of exciting announcements and events during its final day on Tuesday, Jan. 22 in Frisco, Texas.

Critically acclaimed motivational speaker Jim “Murph” Murphy from Afterburner, Inc. started the morning session with the keynote speech on “Flawless Execution®” a business concept that was developed and utilized from the skills he learned as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force.

The general session was rounded out by the awarding of accolades for franchisee achievements in 2012, including the presentation of the awards for New Franchisee of the Year to Mike Do and David Rogers of Houston Texas, and the EAGLE Award, given to ColorTyme’s top franchisee, which was won by Steve Leach of Eagle Rentals, Inc.

“We have an outstanding group of franchisees, which makes for a very competitive race for the EAGLE Award,” said ColorTyme CEO Cathy Skula. “Steve Leach has been a standout franchisee throughout his tenure with ColorTyme, and this win was very well-deserved for Steve and his team.”

One of the highlights of the day was when ColorTyme presented a check for $55,000 to representatives from Kids Across America, the company’s primary charitable organization, whose goal is to give urban youth a life-changing experience via one-week camp sessions each summer. ColorTyme and RimTyme franchisees and stores worked together to raise the money in the latter half of 2012, and achieved the largest donation total to KAA in recent history.

“Our franchisees and their employees really got behind our Kids Across America fundraiser,” said Skula. “The effort they put into helping raise money for those children who attend the camp was truly inspiring.”

Tuesday afternoon held a pair of breakout sessions, one for store managers and another for owners, which were focused on giving them the tools and knowledge needed to continue their success following their time at the convention. Attendees were also treated to a final night event at the Frontiers of Flight Museum located at Dallas Love Field airport. Dinner, a DJ and the chance to tour the museum were all included in the night’s festivities.
