January 28, 2013 // Franchising.com // SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Gold’s Gym, the world’s leading authority on health and fitness, announced plans to open two new facilities in San Antonio − one at the southeast corner of 1604 and Culebra and another at the northeast corner of 151 and Potranco in the new Legacy Trails shopping center. These locations will join the 20 unique Gold’s Gym locations currently serving the San Antonio market − including 11 former Spectrum gyms acquired in 2012 − offering San Antonio residents even more options to reach their fitness goals.
“We are proud to add these two brand new gyms and their array of amenities to our family of facilities in San Antonio,” said Todd Scartozzi, chief operating officer of Gold’s Gym. “No matter where you are in your fitness journey, Gold’s Gym can help you get into the best shape of your life. That’s why, as soon as we open our doors at these locations, I invite the local community to see for themselves all that Gold’s Gym has to offer. Stop in for a tour and talk with our expert fitness professionals. I am confident you will like what you see.”
Additional onsite features include basketball courts, men and women’s sauna areas, kid’s clubs, pro shops, functional fitness studios, cycling rooms and the best and widest selection of popular group exercise classes in the San Antonio area. Both locations will also offer ample parking and more features unique to each location, such as towel service and a racquetball court at the Legacy Trails location.
Gold’s Gym broke ground on its upcoming Legacy Trails location late last year and expects it to open late summer 2013. Construction on the Culebra location will begin early summer 2013 and should be completed within a year. The Legacy Trails location will boast approximately 54,000 square feet of world-class fitness amenities and services, including more than 15,000 square feet of outdoor space devoted to a basketball court, lap pool and wellness pool. The 49,000 square foot Culebra location will also feature premium outdoor exercise space, including a 5,500 square foot swimming pool.
