On the Go: Brown Bag Goes Mobile in Maryland

Brown Bag restaurant has launched its first food truck in Montgomery County, MD.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) January 30, 2013 - Brown Bag restaurants, best known for their healthy “cuisine on the fly”, is throwing its apron into the food truck world this week in Maryland, and already, Twitter fans are sending requests to have the Brown Bag truck come to their street. “Please come to Fishers Lane in Rockville!” said one excited fan after they tweeted their big news—and they plan to.

If all goes well, Fishers Lane in Montgomery County, Maryland, will be the first of many stops. Brown Bag is planning on getting their feet wet in Montgomery County before eventually going mobile in DC and Virginia as well. Brown Bag owner, Erich Fuldner, had this to say about the decision to hit the streets with a food truck: “We have a lot of customers who visit our stores while on business, but there are no stores near their offices. We always get requests to open a store here or there. We thought it was a good idea to bring the food to our fans that are unable to visit our stores because there isn’t one near them. This also gives us an opportunity to ‘test’ a certain market. Since we already do a significant amount of corporate catering, this mobile kitchen will also be available for any corporate events.”

The Brown Bag food truck will have lots of Brown Bag customer’s healthy favorites everyday, including four different grilled paninis, three salads, and two fresh, homemade soups. In addition to feeding hungry masses of office workers every day, Mr. Fuldner hopes to take the truck to festivals and use it to cater corporate events. Brown Bag’s extensive catering business continues to grow, and the addition of the food truck will offer their services to a host of organizations who love their food but may have been a bit too far away to make catering feasible.
