Painting the Town Red: Painting with a Twist Franchise Explodes

Rapidly Growing Paint and Sip Franchise to Open 60 New Locations in 2013, Doubling National Presence

MANDEVILLE, La. - Feb. 5, 2013 // GLOBE NEWSWIRE // - On the heels of a successful year, Painting with a Twist is heading into 2013 with a colorful growth plan and a newly expanded corporate team.

Having invested heavily in brand awareness and franchisee support efforts in 2012, Painting with a Twist expanded its network of studios to 77 in 2012, and the nation's leading Paint and Sip franchise has no plans to slow down, as 60 new locations are on the horizon for 2013. The growth means doubling Painting with a Twist's current national footprint. In addition, the franchisor has grown its in-house team by 30 percent, setting the stage to provide additional support for its rapidly growing franchisee base.

"We continue to expand through franchising with people from all walks of life. We're seeing success with franchisees who have left their corporate career to those who've always wanted to start a business with their spouse," said co-founder Cathy Deano. "This is a low-cost, fresh, original concept and our franchisees are telling us the most important driving factor is fun -- that opening a studio doesn't feel like work at all."

Although the concept of Paint and Sip has been around for years, Deano and co-founder Renee Maloney have perfected it into a successful business formula. As the art and wine trend continues to pick up steam, Painting with a Twist, the pioneer in the Paint and Sip segment, has both guests and franchisees alike lining up at the doors. Existing franchisees are experiencing overflowing classes and numerous girls night out, bachelorette party and date night requests.

Because of the continued demand, the brand plans to expand into seven new states in 2013, including California, Washington State, Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

At Painting with a Twist, people come together to experience a unique 'getaway' that includes friends, paint and the option to BYOB. Led by local art instructors, guests paint on bare 16" by 20" canvases using paint and brushes provided by the studio. The artwork ranges from landscapes, abstracts and cityscapes, to creative renderings of animals, iconic buildings and florals. Friends gather for an evening of laughs, creativity and camaraderie as they create one-of-a-kind pieces of art to take home and, often, discover a newfound talent. In addition to the scheduled classes, Painting with a Twist also offers private parties for corporate outings, bridal showers, sorority functions, baby showers and special events.

Dedicated to giving back to the local communities, Deano and Maloney have firmly planted their roots in the non-profit world. As a result of their passion to give back, a monthly fundraiser "Painting with a Purpose," is hosted throughout the franchise system, helping various organizations raise funds in the local communities that Painting with a Twist serves. In 2012 alone, the program raised more than $200,000 for local charities.
