February 22, 2013 // Franchising.com // SAN DIEGO, California - Diane Pearce and Mary Ann Canup of Annex Brands, Inc. were recognized on February 19, 2013 as Certified Franchise Executives by the International Franchise Association at its recently concluded national convention. Pearce and Canup completed a comprehensive course of study in franchise management offered by the association’s educational foundation. The IFA is the world’s oldest and largest organization representing franchising worldwide.
Pearce, the Executive Director of Franchise Services, joined Annex Brands in January, 2011 concurrent with the Company's acquisition of the Navis Pack & Ship franchise system. She oversees operations of the company's Logistics Center in Denver, CO. Her responsibilities primarily are to support the Navis Pack & Ship brand as it relates to operations, training and technical support; however, her reach also extends into integrating the freight function within all brands of the Company.
Canup, the Executive Director of Compliance, has been with Annex Brands since 1993, having started in an administrative capacity and eventually rising to the position of Executive Director. In 2005, she was promoted to Director of Compliance and in November, 2012 was promoted to her current position of Executive Director. Her duties include ensuring the Company's compliance with franchise investment laws, managing franchise registration renewals and updates, and coordinating franchise resale transactions.

Nearly 1,500 franchise executives are now enrolled or have received certification. Candidates are required to complete a rigorous course of study to earn the CFE designation, which includes attending institute-sponsored educational seminars and workshops. The program enhances franchise professionals’ understanding of the industry’s fundamental and complex aspects.
