Gray Plant Mooty’s Lee Hanson Named St. Cloud Area Small Business Advocate of the Year

March 14, 2013 // // MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The St. Cloud Area Chamber has announced that the 2013 St. Cloud Area Small Business Award for the Business Central Mark of Excellence - Small Business Advocate of the Year, will be awarded to Gray Plant Mooty’s Lee Hanson.

Lee Hanson credits much of his success to the community. He helped incorporate The Boys and Girls Club in 1972 and has sat on the board of directors for the Central Minn. Council of Boy Scouts for 30 years. He’s been involved in the Initiative Foundation and served as chair of the Anderson Center for 10 years. He’s a founding partner of Falcon National Bank and helped start Granite Equity Partners in 2001.

All of these things Hanson has done with an eye to the future. “We need to keep our successful local companies,” he said. “That’s why we started Granite Equity – to help keep local businesses local. We need to keep businesses here, we need to keep discretionary income here, we need to keep educated leaders here. We need to build the kind of place where our children and grandchildren can find good, educated, well-paid jobs.”

Lee concentrates his practice in closely held business law, including mergers and acquisitions, sales, estate planning, agricultural matters, business, commercial real estate, and tax planning.

All of the 2013 Small Business Small Business Award winners, including Scott Warzecha, Bob Strack, and Lee Hanson, will be honored at the Chamber’s Business Awards Luncheon on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at noon at the Holiday Inn and Suites in St. Cloud.
