Roetzel Promotes Four Associates to Partner

“We are pleased to recognize these attorneys for their impressive legal accomplishments," said Jeffrey J. Casto, Roetzel’s Chairman and CEO. "They are well deserving of their promotions and we are fortunate to be able to grow our firm with such outstanding people."

Melissa R. Hoeffel, located in the firm’s Columbus office, focuses her practice on government relations and administrative law, with an emphasis on legislative and executive agency lobbying, campaign finance and election law, government contract procurement, and hearings before various administrative agencies and boards. She received her B.A. in Economics from The College of Wooster and her J.D. from Capital University Law School.

John J. Rutter, in the firm’s Akron office, focuses his practice on business and creditors’ rights litigation, including representation of banks and other secured lenders in commercial foreclosures, receiverships, and replevin actions in state and federal courts. He received his B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University and his J.D. from The University of Akron School of Law.

Jonathan R. Secrest, located in the Columbus office, focuses his practice on assisting clients with employment-related matters, including representation through all stages of litigation and before state and federal agencies. In addition to practicing employment law, he represents food manufacturers in defense of food product liability claims. Jon earned his B.A. from DePauw University and his J.D. from Capital University Law School.

Michael R. Traven, also in the firm’s Columbus office, focuses his practice on commercial and business related transactions and litigation. He has experience representing oil and gas producers in litigation matters, shareholder disputes and their fiduciary obligations, real estate litigation, construction litigation, and issues surrounding creditors' rights. He also has considerable experience in defending hospitals and physicians in malpractice lawsuits. Mike received his B.A. from Denison University and his J.D. from Capital University Law School.
