April 3, 2013 - The Illinois chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation will soon host a Grow Vending Machine in an effort to provide their staff with healthy, balanced snack choices.
Both organizations are seeking to make a difference in the lives of people, and Grow Vending is excited to be a part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The machine will be accessible to all Chicago Make-A-Wish employees, offering alternatives to the chemically laden, nutritionally bankrupt drinks and snacks that usually fill office break rooms. Grow machines contain a combination of all-natural, organic drinks and snacks with traditional vending products.
The new partnership between Grow Vending and the Make-A-Wish foundation’s Chicago chapter is in full support of Mayor’s Emanuel’s current “Healthy Vending Challenge” for the city.
“Once in place, the city’s new vending machines will make it easier than ever before for city employees and the public to make healthier choices,” said Mayor Emanuel. “We are challenging all of Chicago’s businesses and organizations to do the same for their employees and visitors, so that people across the city have greater ability to make healthy choices.”
Make-A-Wish Chicago approached a local Grow operator and expressed interest in hosting a machine in their new break area. With her business, C.S. Healthy Vending, INC., she has three other machines placed throughout the Chicago area and is excited to include the Make-A-Wish Foundation as one of her locations.
“I think it’s the perfect place for a Grow machine because they actually reached out to me in an effort to offer healthy snacks to its employees,” she explains.
The Make-A-Wish foundation is dedicated to bringing hope and joy in to the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions by granting them life-changing wishes through the support of the community. Grow Vending Co-Founder, Chris Wyland states, “Our partnership with the Make-A-Wish foundation is important to both myself and the Grow team. It’s an inspiring organization and I’m glad we can contribute our machines to the people behind it.”
Grow provides a variety of healthy and traditional products in order to gradually introduce people to healthy foods drinks. Local grow operators work with locations to meet their specific snack and drink preferences.
