Vaincre L’Autisme Acts on ActionCOACH Advice To Boost Growth

April 08, 2013 // Franchising.com // French autism charity Vaincre L’Autisme (Win Against Autism) has been able to tap into a wealth of business experience thanks to the ActionCOACH Coaching for a Cause campaign, which has enabled the organisation to receive free business coaching from Ile-de-France-based ActionCOACH Xavier Ferrand.

Established by founder and President M'Hammed Sajidi in 2001, after he was left frustrated by the inability of health professionals to help his autistic son Samy, Vaincre L’Autisme has since grown to become one of the leading autism charities in France.

The organisation operates on several levels, including working with the French government and health authorities to protect the rights of autistic people, helping those affected by autism, and raising public awareness and funding research into the condition.

Although autism affects more than 650,000 people in France, understanding of the condition and support for autistic people is still sadly lacking, which makes Vaincre L’Autisme a vital resource for autistic people and their families.

ActionCOACH Xavier Ferrand is now conducting regular coaching sessions with M'Hammed Sajidi to help the charity as it enters a period of expansion across multiple areas. Specific aims over the next few years include increasing the number of Futuroschool educational units for autistic children from two to sixty, as well as developing INTED (National Institute for Pervasive Development Disorders) - an institute of excellence for international research into autism. Vaincre L’Autisme is also looking to expand the number of staff working out of its head office from ten to sixty, including three senior managers.

Xavier’s help is proving to be vital during this time, as M’Hammed explains:

“Having Xavier on board has come at just the right time, as we are in the middle of a process of development that requires restructuring and reorganisation of our whole operating model,” he says.

“Working with Xavier has helped me to take a step back from things and organise my management team better, as well as improving my time management in regards to the number of projects I personally undertake. This process has already improved working practices for me and my team and led to greater efficiencies. It is an ongoing process and I am looking forward to continuing to work with Xavier.

“I believe that the whole Coaching for a Cause campaign has a lot to offer to organisations like ours - introducing business operation techniques to charities enables them to be more efficient in their working methods and of greater benefit society as a whole.”
