Card Connection is New Supplier to Haven

April 09, 2013 // Franchising.com // Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, has today announced that it has agreed a deal with Haven to become its new greeting card supplier. Haven operates 36 family holiday parks throughout England, Scotland and Wales and Card Connection’s network of 69 franchisees will now supply greeting cards from a range of more than 1,500 quality designs.

Haven Central Shops manager, Peter Creak explains: “We first met with the Card Connection team at the end of last year and were impressed by the card products and the new Gift Connection range, which is ideal for Haven. The consignment method of supply and service will also suit our stores, allowing us to stock selective range of greeting cards to match the requirements of our holiday park customers. In addition, the Gift Connection and the party range; including the selection of popular Flashing Badges will also be supplied by the franchise network.”

The roll-out of Card Connection greeting cards and accessories in Haven retail outlets has now been completed in-time for the start of the summer season.

“We are delighted that Card Connection has been selected as a new supplier to Haven,” confirms Michael Johnson, managing director, Card Connection. “Our franchisees are also excited about supplying one of the leading brands in this industry. By helping stores optimise income streams from greeting card sales, our franchisees will also see a positive impact on their own bottom line, creating a win-win business situation.”

Card Connection franchisees place greeting cards on a consignment basis in retail outlets. Cards and display equipment are supplied on ‘free loan’ to retailers and they only pay for what they sell. The award winning merchandising service has grown in popularity over the years and Card Connection franchisees now distribute greeting cards to around 14,000 outlets through its network of UK franchisees.

Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of the largest publicly owned greeting card publisher in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees that are keen to run an expanding business. Suitable candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, and depending on the size of the territory, they could be expected to employ a small team, operate a small warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.

Since the franchise network in the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £7K + Stock + Card Connection fee with earnings potential in excess of £50k per annum.
