New Dual Build Hampton Inn & Suites and Homewood Suites by Hilton Opens in Former Xcel Energy Office Building in Downtown Denver

April 23, 2013 // Franchising.com // McLean, VA – Hilton Worldwide today announced the opening of its newest hotel, the dual branded Hampton Inn & Suites Denver Downtown-Convention Center and Homewood Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown-Convention Center. Located at 550 15th Street, the 12-story hotel boasts 120 Hampton rooms and 182 Homewood studio suites. The property is owned by 550 15th Owner, LLC and managed by Stonebridge Companies.

The Hampton Inn & Suites and Homewood Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown-Convention Center is the 40th Hampton and ninth Homewood Suites property in Colorado, and brings approximately 75 jobs to the Denver area. The opening also marks the 12th dual-branded property from Hilton Worldwide in North America, and the 11th featuring Homewood Suites, the leader and anchor in Hilton Worldwide’s dual brand strategy.

Situated within one block of the Colorado Convention Center, other nearby attractions include the Denver Center for Performing Arts, 16th Street Mall and Denver Art Museum. The building, formerly the Xcel Energy offices, also demonstrates Hilton Worldwide’s adaptive re-use program, which leverages creative solutions to convert spaces not originally developed for hospitality uses into new hotels fitting of its host brand’s design standards.

The hotel splits its lobby between the brands offering two separate check-in desks and lodging/dining areas – each catering to the needs of their respective guests. The dual brand concept also creates enhanced and larger communal areas – meeting rooms, pool and fitness center – than would be standard at a stand-alone property, benefitting both business and leisure travelers.
