PITTSBURGH - April 29, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Bruster's Real Ice Cream ranks number 10 out of 100 limited-service restaurants nationwide, according to a new consumer study. The popular artisan frozen treat chain, which franchises more than 200 locations nationwide, joins a list that includes other beloved brands including In-N-Out Burger and Chipotle. The study was conducted by premier industry publication Nation’s Restaurant News and consulting firm WD Partners.
The ranking comes as Bruster’s introduces the first of three new decadent spring flavors. Freshly made Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake, with ribbons of raspberry sauce and creamy chocolate cheesecake ice cream, is the latest indulgence to join the restaurant’s collection of more than 140 signature recipes. This customer favorite is now available at all locations.
Next month, take an early summertime trip to the beach with Bruster’s new Sea Salt Caramel and Sea Salt Caramel with Toffee. “These are some of the best flavors ever created by Bruster’s and have all tested extremely well in the field,” said Michael Branigan, VP Marketing.
The spring flavors are just part of Bruster’s new, fully integrated marketing strategy. Bruster’s will now be introducing Limited Time Offers with more frequency than ever before. Rather than only seasonal ice cream treats, Bruster’s will continuously introduce a wider variety of treats and drinks year-round. “As the Nation’s Restaurant News survey shows, consumers love Bruster’s,” said Chief Executive Jim Sahene. “Our goal is for them to love us all year – not just during warm months.”
According to Sahene, Bruster’s, which turns 25 next year, will soon unveil a comprehensive revitalization plan designed to drive growth. “The Bruster’s of the future will look very different than the Bruster’s of today,” Sahene added. “Our product line is being expanded and our stores will have a new, fresh look and feel, all with the goal of bringing Bruster’s to many more communities in the USA and internationally.”
Mentoring young adults serve as Bruster's foundation and business platform. At its 200-plus locations in 18 states and the nation of Guyana, up to 37 flavors of hand crafted ice cream, yogurt, sorbet, Italian Ice and sorbets are made fresh daily at each location. Children less than 40 inches tall receive free baby cones, there is an annual “PJ” Day where “Free Waffle Cones are given away” and free "Doggie Sundaes" reward pets for bringing their owners to a location.
