OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 1, 2013) - They say that being a mother is the best job in the world, and the hardest. In celebration of Mother's Day, Giant Tiger Stores Limited is pleased to announce the Giant Tiger Mother of the Year Facebook Contest.

From May 1 - 24, enter on-line on the Giant Tiger Facebook page and tell us why your mom is the Mother of the Year. What impact has your mom had on your life? A brief write up and supporting examples are required.

Prizes are awarded as follows:

• First Prize: $500 in Giant Tiger gift cards plus a Dove Gift Basket for the winner and nominee.
• Second Prize: $300 in Giant Tiger gift cards plus a Dove Gift Basket for the winner and nominee.
• Third Prize: $200 in Giant Tiger gift cards plus a Dove Gift Basket for the winner and nominee.
• $1,000 will be donated to the CURE Foundation on behalf of all winners.
