Mr. Lube Ending MS... One Drop at a Time Campaign Seeks to Raise Funds to Help Canadians Living With Multiple Sclerosis

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA - (Marketwired - May 9, 2013) - Mr. Lube Canada will host "Mr. Lube Ending MS… One Drop at a Time" to increase awareness of multiple sclerosis and help raise funds for those affected by the disease. From May 10 to May 12, a donation will be made for every oil change performed at any Mr. Lube location.

Since 2007, Mr. Lube's annual MS awareness campaign has raised more than $200,000 for Canadians living with MS through over 30,000 oil changes. Funds raised help the MS Society of Canada support MS research and fund valuable programs and services for Canadians touched by MS. This year, more than 120 Mr. Lube locations will participate in the campaign formerly known as Founder's Day, in honour of Mr. Lube pioneer Cliff Giese, whose wife was diagnosed with MS in 1977.

"We are asking Canadians to join us on May 10, 11 and 12 to help end MS by visiting Mr. Lube," says Stuart Suls, president and CEO of Mr. Lube Canada. "We are committed to working to support Canadians living with MS, and aim to raise over $100,000 with this year's event."

Every day, thousands of Canadians navigate their day-to-day lives with multiple sclerosis; Canadians have one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis in the world. The symptoms of MS vary and oftentimes cannot be seen. Many people with MS experience problems with mobility, speech and vision, in addition to extreme fatigue and cognitive issues.

"We are excited to team up with Mr. Lube once again to raise funds and awareness for Canadians who are touched by this disease," says Yves Savoie, president and CEO of the MS Society. "We are thankful for the dedicated employees at Mr. Lube and their loyal customers for recognizing the importance of this cause, and acknowledging that multiple sclerosis impacts thousands of Canadians and countless communities across our country."

As part of Mr. Lube's support to enable the lives of people with MS, one dollar will be donated for every mention of #mrlubeendingms on Twitter.
"Mr. Lube Ending MS… One Drop at a Time" coincides with the MS Society's 1 Day in May campaign to raise awareness about MS and the lives of Canadians impacted by the disease.

Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 15 and 40, and the unpredictable effects of MS last for the rest of their lives. The MS Society provides services to people with MS and their families and funds research to find the cause and cure for this disease.
