Bojangles' Names Location on South New Hope Road In Gastonia, N.C., The Top Company Restaurant

May 20, 2013 // Franchising.com // Gastonia, N.C. - The Gastonia-area Bojangles’ located at 3638 South New Hope Road has won first place in the company’s coveted ShowBo Awards, after undergoing a meticulous evaluation process based on customer satisfaction, food quality and overall experience.

The assessment for this year’s awards included two rounds of unannounced inspections conducted by a team of two judges at both the lunch and dinner hours. Each judge awarded points to restaurants based on a rigorous set of operating standards, and results for each team were combined for overall scores.

For earning first place honors in the ShowBo Awards, Kim Midgett, unit director of the Bojangles’ located on South New Hope Road, was awarded $10,000. Midgett has been with Bojangles’ for more than 30 years.

In addition to the Bojangles’ in Gastonia, two other Bojangles’ locations received ShowBo recognition. The Bojangles’ on East Atkins Street in Dobson, N.C., was awarded second place and Unit Director Shannon Heath earned a cash prize of $3,000. Third place was awarded to the East Main Street Bojangles’ in Biscoe, N.C., and the restaurant’s Unit Director Mindy Holder earned a $2,000 cash prize.

Along with the unit directors of the top three Bojangles’ receiving a cash prize, all first-time ShowBo finalists receive a one-of-a-kind ShowBo ring containing four rubies. When unit directors who are previous ShowBo finalists are selected again as finalists, their rubies are replaced with diamonds. Unit directors named finalists for this year’s ShowBo awards included Stephen Allred from Asheboro, N.C.; Christina Cater from Huntersville N.C.; David Gonzalez from Hampstead, N.C; LaKrystal Gregory from Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Tamey Harbuck from Raeford, N.C.; Troy Harrington from Chelsea, Ala.; Judy Mauldwin from Concord, N.C.; Debbie Rabon from Columbia, S.C.; Sean Rubio from Northport, Ala.; Amanda Summerall from Richfield, N.C.
