CUPS Frozen Yogurt – That’s Hot ™ to Open Second Franchise Location in Parsippany, New Jersey on May 23

Grand Opening: Free Frozen Yogurt from 4-7 pm

May 21, 2013 // Franchising.com // Parsippany, NJ – CUPS Frozen Yogurt – That’s Hot™, the beach-themed self-serve fro-yo concept, will open its second franchise location at 4 pm on Thursday,May 23 at Troy Hills Shopping Center, 1123 Route 46 in Parsippany, New Jersey.

To celebrate the grand opening, CUPS Parsippany will be offering free frozen yogurt from 4- 7 pm on
May 23.

Also, during the grand opening week, each Parsippany customer will be given a “scratch off” card, which contains prizes such as wristbands, beach balls, water bottles, beach towels and CUPS coupons. One lucky winner will receive free fro-yo for a year.

The Parsippany CUPS franchise is owned and operated by Lisa Trachtenberg and Karen Abrams.

Best friends and a passion for frozen yogurt, Trachtenberg and Abrams fell in love with CUPS and decided to go into business together and become a CUPS franchisee. The women formed SFAM, LLC., which stands for “sisters from another mother” to symbolize the friendship and business relationship.

Both women bring extensive business experience to running CUPS, with Trachtenberg being a marketing executive with Mosaic and Abrams being a solo practitioner attorney practicing commercial real estate law. Abrams, in fact, has represented the CUPS franchisor on the majority of their corporate CUPS store lease negotiations and now represents several other franchisees in the same capacity.

According to Trachtenberg and Abrams however, it is the love for frozen yogurt and the CUPS brand that will have the biggest impact to the business.

Since opening the first CUPS in Clifton, New Jersey in 2010, CUPS has taken the Tri-State area by storm, becoming the local hot spot for teenagers and adults alike who make their own fro-yo concoctions choosing from 24 yogurt flavors and over 50 different toppings and three sauces.

According to CUPS co-founder Rick Barbrick, CUPS is much more than great frozen yogurt; CUPS was designed around the experience.

“It’s more of a club like experience. We pump out club dance music at volumes that create a highly energetic vibe, a lounge-type design with couches, ottomans and eclectic murals; and Cast Members with infectiously fun personalities. It’s the complete experience that gives us that edgy vibe versus an everyday yogurt bar or ice cream shop experience,” said Barbrick.

CUPS opened its tenth company location earlier this year in Carle Place, NY. Since the beginning of 2012, CUPS has signed more than 10 new area development agreements representing 25 franchise units in New Jersey, New York and Florida.

The Parsippany CUPS will be open from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm Sunday through Thursday and from 11:00 am to midnight on Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 973-794-6200 or visit www.cupsfrozenyogurt.com.
