June 03, 2013 // Franchising.com // Nashville, TN – HRI Holdco, LLC, parent company of carpet and upholstery cleaning franchise Chem-Dry and wood renewal franchise N-Hance, announced that it has begun franchising directly into Canada. Chem-Dry Canada Ltd., which had been operating Chem-Dry’s master license in Canada, is transitioning out of that role. The transaction was completed in early May.
Chem-Dry’s Canadian network has over 50 franchises spanning from The Yukon territory to Nova Scotia, with the greatest concentration in the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario. With over 2,000 franchises in the U.S. and another 1,500 around the world, Chem-Dry is the global leader in carpet and upholstery cleaning. Its “hot carbonating extraction” cleaning system is unique in the industry and uses carbonation rather than detergents and excessive water to provide a deeper, longer lasting cleaning. The low moisture process also allows carpets to dry much faster than with typical steam cleaning, usually in a couple of hours rather than a couple of days. Additionally, Chem-Dry’s primary cleaning solution is natural, green-certified and safe and non-toxic for kids and pets, so it offers home and business owners a healthier choice in cleaning carpets as well as area rugs, upholstery, and even tile and stone.
“We see tremendous growth potential for the Chem-Dry brand in Canada,” said Dan Tarantin, CEO of HRI. “We’re confident we will be able to leverage the infrastructure we’ve built to support our U.S. network to help our Canadian franchise owners grow their businesses and become even more successful, as well as recruit new franchise owners to the system. Together, we plan to expand Chem-Dry’s coverage and bring our deeper cleaning, healthier carpet cleaning process to more homes and businesses across Canada.”
The Chem-Dry franchise owners in Canada are excited about the partnership as well. "The Canadian Chem-Dry franchisees view this transaction and the opportunity to work with the HRI team as a stepping stone for great things to come,” said Ahmad Hamad El-Hamad, Chem-Dry largest Canadian operator with eleven franchises. “We know the high caliber of training and support we’ll receive will help us grow and help Chem-Dry become better known in Canada. Franchisees here are passionate about the brand, confident in our superior carpet cleaning system and committed to delivering an exceptional experience to all of our customers. With that as our foundation, and now the support of HRI and their collective experience and resources, we feel like the sky is the limit for Chem-Dry in Canada."
HRI provides support and services to its Chem-Dry U.S. and now Canadian franchisees that include classroom, hands-on and online training as well as ongoing business coaching, marketing tools, public relations, research and development, accounting, product and equipment, and much more. The company also provides these same services for over 250 N-Hance franchises in the U.S. and Canada today.
Founded in 1977, Chem-Dry is the world’s leading carpet and upholstery cleaning service, with a network of over 3,500 units in 35 countries serving over 10,000 homes a day worldwide. Its green-certified solution and proprietary hot carbonating extraction cleaning process provide a deeper clean, allow surfaces to dry faster, and leave homes and businesses healthier.
