June 07, 2013 // Franchising.com // Chico, Calif. - On June 13, Dutch Bros. Coffee of Chico celebrates its 10-year anniversary, and local owner-operators Dan and Michal Richardson want to say “thank you” with a community contribution.
All day, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., the original location at 480 E. Park Ave. will offer any 16-oz. drink for just $1 and donate all of those dollars to Wings of Eagles, a local non-profit organization that helps seriously ill children and their families.
Wings of Eagles President and Founder Georgia Alvarez says that funds raised will go toward providing families with financial assistance and hospital care kits. “When my son was diagnosed with leukemia, I didn’t know we were going to be there for 11 days straight. You’re so uncomfortable anyway, and not having the things you need makes you that much more uncomfortable.”
Owner Dan says they selected the cause due to a personal connection. “Our assistant manager Bryan and his wife had an infant son who passed away a few years ago, and Wings of Eagles helped pay for the funeral costs.”
In addition to Thursday’s all-day fundraiser, the Dutch Bros. location at 2393 Cohasset Rd. will celebrate going 24 hours by donating all proceeds from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, June 14. Again, all 16-oz. drinks will cost just $1.
Over the past 10 years, Dutch Bros. Chico has supported various local causes, including Environmental Alternatives, Operation Christmas Child, American Cancer Society, Angel Tree and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
As Dutch Bros. Chico celebrates 10 years of service, Wings of Eagles is also celebrating its 20-year anniversary this June. To learn more about Wings of Eagles, visit www.wingsofeagles.org.
