Edmond Juiceblendz Serves as Collection Location for Victims of Oklahoma Tornado

Edmond, Oklahoma Franchisees Spearhead Collection Efforts and Financial Assistant to those Affected by Super Storm

June 07, 2013 // Franchising.com // WESTON, FL – The Edmond, Oklahoma JuiceBlendz Café, has declared itself a collection site to assist rescue workers and first responders to the EF5 tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma and surrounding communities in May.

Ryan Ellis, the Edmond, OK, JuiceBlendz Café, Edmond Manager, and Ashley Hughes, owner of the JuiceBlendz Café, Edmond location have spearheaded the collection efforts, collecting canned goods, water, supplies, gloves for relief efforts, medical supplies, and any other donations that their customers have been willing to offer. The donations are being distributed through local churches, the Salvation Army and Red Cross.

“From a management perspective, we were so impressed with our workers, who made the immediate decision to pool their tips for the week and donate them to relief efforts,” says Ellis.

Edmond is about 20 miles from Moore, so the JuiceBlendz workers were very personally invested, as they knew many people affected by the storm.

“We are so proud of our franchisees and their commitment to their individual communities,” stated JuiceBlendz International CEO, Adam Ogden. “We will always support our stores giving back and want to recognize the good works that have been executed here, and to Ryan and Ashley for jumping in and executing a positive initiative in the wake of such a terrible tragedy.”
