Bojangles' Names Location In Seneca, S.C., Top Franchise-Operated Restaurant

June 20, 2013 // Franchising.com // Charlotte, N.C. - The Seneca-area Bojangles’ located on Highway 123 Bypass has won first place in the company’s coveted ShowBo awards after undergoing a meticulous evaluation process based on customer satisfaction, food quality and overall experience.

Each year Bojangles’ conducts an extensive evaluation of its more than 300 franchise-operated restaurants to determine the winners of the franchise ShowBo awards. The assessment for the ShowBo awards for this year included two rounds of unannounced inspections conducted by a team of two judges at both the lunch and dinner hours. Each judge awarded points to restaurants based on a rigorous set of operating standards, and results for each team were combined for overall scores.

For earning first place honors in the ShowBo awards for franchise-operated restaurants, Donald McKinley, operator of the Bojangles’ located on Highway 123 Bypass, was awarded $10,000. McKinley has been with Bojangles’ franchise group BOJ of Western N.C. for two years.

In addition to the Bojangles’ in Seneca, two other franchise-operated Bojangles’ locations received ShowBo recognition. The Bojangles’ on Market Place Drive in Rocky Mount, Va., was awarded second place and restaurant operator Nancy Valentino earned a cash prize of $3,000. Third place was presented to the Highway 14 East Bojangles’ in Landrum, S.C., and the restaurant’s restaurant operator Letty Kimbrell earned a $2,000 cash prize.

Along with the unit directors of the top three Bojangles’ receiving a cash prize, all first-time ShowBo finalists receive a one-of-a-kind ShowBo ring containing four rubies. When unit directors who are previous ShowBo finalists are selected again as finalists, their rubies are replaced with diamonds.

Operators named finalists for this year’s Show Bo awards included – Latoya Guider, Cayce, S.C.; Glenda Hall, Moneta, Va.; Dare Marley, North Wilkesboro, N.C.; Pat Moran, Rocky Mount, Va.; Jeffrey Myers, Florence, S.C.; Jamie Seller, Candler, N.C.; Patrick Wingo, Boiling Springs, S.C.
