BounceU Concludes Successful Fundraiser for Make-A-Wish®

Campaign Yields Big, BIG Results; More than $50,000 Raised

June 24, 2013 // Franchising.com // TEMPE, Ariz. – BounceU, a popular franchise that fulfills the birthday wishes of children around the country with its lively, whimsical parties, is pleased to announce the end of a successful campaign to raise $50,000 to help Make-A-Wish fulfill the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. After a month-long campaign in May, BounceU executives and franchisees are delighted to announce that they raised a grand total of $50,500, exceeding the original goal.

During the month of May, all 51 BounceU locations throughout the U.S. hosted ongoing events and promotions to benefit Make-A-Wish. The campaign concluded on May 22 with BounceU’s “Big, Big Bounce” event, where the public was invited to a special open bounce session with a donation of choice.

“It was truly a joy to watch each step of the campaign unfold,” said Lee Knowlton, CEO of BounceU. “Throughout the entire campaign, it was incredibly gratifying knowing that while children were having fun at each of our facilities, we were simultaneously taking steps towards enhancing the lives of even more children. We would not have been able to reach our goal if it wasn’t for the tremendous support we received from families and local communities across the country – so we thank everyone that helped.”

The system-wide fundraiser was a first for BounceU, with each franchisee working towards an individual goal of raising $1,000. Company executives consider the campaign a success for not only reaching the monetary goal, but bringing the network of franchisees together for a common cause that aligned with their values.

“Because BounceU and Make-A-Wish have complementary missions, we were confident from the start that this alliance would be a success,” said David A. Williams, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. “BounceU’s contribution to our organization is going to help change the lives of children across the country. We are thankful for their support and hope to work together on similar campaigns in the future.”

Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. Its mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities.
