Popular "Better Burger" Restaurant Makes an Edmonton-Area Debut

CALGARY, ALBERTA - (Marketwired - June 27, 2013) - Smashburger, America's fastest growing "better burger" restaurant, is rapidly expanding and has selected Sherwood Park as its third Canadian location. Opening on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Emerald Hills Shopping Centre, #530 - 5000 Emerald Drive, Smashburger brings its delicious burgers that are smashed fresh, served delicious, along with its tempting sides and regional menu items crafted to please local's palates to Sherwood Park. This is the first store in the growing Edmonton Market.

Each Smashburger features a regional menu created with local flavours and tastes in mind. The menu will feature homegrown Alberta tastes including the Edmonton Smashburger and the Edmonton Smashchicken, which are topped off with Canadian seasoned grilled onions, cheddar cheese, Canadian BBQ sauce, and a friend egg on a Kaiser roll. The menu will also stay true to its Canadian roots and feature traditional poutine and mouth-watering Saskatoon Berry shakes.

At Smashburger, the secret is in the smash. It starts with 100 per cent fresh, never frozen, Certified Angus Beef that is smashed onto a 400 degree flat grill to sear in the signature flavour. To further the "better burger" experience, the burgers are then served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of the freshest produce, real cheese and an assortment of high quality toppings.

Smashburger's signature recipes and create your own burgers are smashed fresh, served delicious every time. And Smashburger is more than just burgers. Guests can enjoy a selection of tender marinated grilled Smashchicken sandwiches and fresh tossed signature salads, along with a variety of irresistible sides including rosemary and garlic-seasoned Smashfries, Haystack Onions, and Veggie Frites (flash-fried and seasoned carrot sticks and green beans). The restaurant will also serve a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including Big Rock beer, wine, and a variety of hand-spun milkshakes.
